Creative Papermaking with Sarah Holloway

Come and explore textural possibilities and have fun experimenting with making pieces of recycled handmade paper. You will learn how to use a Deckle and Mould and transform old paper into new, using the pouring method.

Choose amongst dried petals, seeds, leaves and threads to add into your bespoke paper to create exciting textural surfaces. These can be framed, made into wall hangings or used in collage and card making, gift tags and bookmarks.

All materials will be provided. You may also want to bring some of your own dried flower petals or threads to add to the selection of inclusions. There will be plentiful visual resources to help inspire you, including images by other Papermaking artists. You will have information sheets to take away, to help you explore the craft of creative papermaking further and make paper independently.

*Please bring an apron, if you’d like to plus a firm flat surfaced container/cardboard box to take your wet A5/A4 sheets of paper home in. They will be stacked on absorbent cloths.
