Rural Kind is a waxed canvas and small leather goods brand set up initially as a side hustle in 2014. Developed through a passion for design and craftsmanship, I create handcrafted carry goods and small leather accessories for everyday adventures. Each item is thoughtfully designed with an emphasis on simple clean lines, considered detailing, and above all else, functionality. I use traditional materials that have been designed (and have proven) to last for generations including Scottish made waxed canvas, oak bark tanned leather from a small tannery in Devon, solid brass hardware and heritage shuttle loom cotton webbing. My range of bags focuses on specific functions, with bags for tools, lunch bags, knitting project bags, and bags for gardening and hauling logs. Each item is made by hand from the first stitch to the last copper rivet, with the help of some sturdy industrial sewing machines, in our small workshop in an old primary school in Carmarthenshire.
