I am an established constructed textile artist, with over two decades of practice creating unconventional work for contemporary spaces. Visual inspiration is gleaned from the Welsh landscape, in particular coastal horizons and the minutiae of what’s underfoot. Underpinning all of my work, whether artistic or utilitarian, is an inherent practical curiosity to exploit weave principles, celebrate the beauty of yarns and create memorable aesthetics for this ancient craft.
I use a range of natural fibres such as silk, cotton, linen, wool, and raffia, in juxtaposition with metallics and monofilaments to make handwoven work. I also make sculptures whereby threads are encapsulated in acrylic resin or glass laminations.
