An authentic use of materials and processes is central to my practice and leads the way in how I develop an image with many of my prints combining several printmaking techniques to achieve the desired effect. I work intuitively, building layers of translucent pigment by passing the work through the press multiple times; in doing so, I can create unexpected and interesting interplays of colour and texture.
I have been working through the medium of printmaking for the past nine years, creating work from my home studio south of Aberystwyth. My initial training in fashion design has informed my love of colour and texture and has driven my consideration for the importance of materials in my work.
