Craft Festival Town Trail and Oriel Myrddin

August 1, 2024

A great project has been hatching to co-incide with Craft Festival Wales in Cardigan.

From August 30th until September 20th Oriel Myrddin and the National Contemporary Art Gallery of Wales has teamed up with us at Craft Festival Wales.

Together, we’ve partnered with 6 venues throughout the town of Cardigan to curate a contemporary craft trail that will showcase new work from six talented makers from across Wales. Each maker was invited to respond to artworks from the National Contemporary Art Gallery of Wales.

The commissioned work encompasses a diverse array of artistic mediums, including ceramics, textiles, brush making and willow weaving, to reinterpret eminent artworks from the National Collections.

With support from Welsh Government funding, our aim is to make these valued collections more accessible and engaging for all.

Venues & Their Makers:

Lewis Prosser and Rosa Harradine at The Albion
Ella Bua-Iin at Stiwdio 3
Hannah Walters at Awen Teifi
Rosie Lake at Crwst
Rosa Harradine at Cardigan Bay Brownies
Ffion Evans at Mwldan

Pick up a trail map at one of the venues from August 30th. You can also pick up a trail map from Cardigan Castle, Canfas Gallery and Custom House Gallery.

Collect stamps from each venue to complete the Trail. Drop your completed trail at Cardigan Castle by September 28th and you will be entered into a draw to win a range of lovely prizes from our venue partners.

See you in Cardigan!
