‘A world of small stories’ celebrating our ability to create a narrative out of almost anything. My little pewter figures are inspired by evening walks on local beaches, watching people and dogs interacting with each other and with seagulls. In these pieces I am trying to take you to the place of innocence, warmth and safety that I found in the children’s book illustrations I loved as a child. I also play with the shapes of birds against the sky by mounting pewter starlings and swifts on driftwood or old corrugated iron. I hand-cast the pewter in moulds I make myself from layers of plywood. Driftwood is picked up from West Wales beaches, corrugated iron is filched from local derelict barns
