I’m delighted to announce that broadcaster and writer, Kate Humble will be joining us at Craft Festival Wales in September.
Kate will be opening Craft Festival at 10am on Friday September 5th and joining me, in conversation at The Capital of Craft Symposium in the Tower Room at Cardigan Castle. Kate’s talk forms a 3-day programme of talks, masterclasses and panel discussions around the theme of Woven. CLICK HERE to book your seat.
Wool was historically the most important and widespread of Wales’s industries. The Capital of Craft Symposium explores its place in history, its past links to the slave trade and how contemporary practitioners respond to wool and weaving.

Rachel Higgins
Rachel Higgins’ sculptures are enchanting. Inspired, as she says, by the wildlife around her, she manages to capture all the personality of the animals and birds she creates in delicate and intricate metal work.
David White-The Whittlings
David White is a spoon whittler extraordinaire. I’m utterly biased, because he is one of the stars of my book Homemade, but I love his work, I love him, and I’m looking forward to giving him a great big hug!!

Another obsession I have is bags. But not handbags. Just really good, well-thought through, super-practical bags that also look great. So I’ll be heading to see Rural Kind. I’ve got my eye on their garden bag…

As someone who loves and appreciates craft, but is useless at it herself, I’m looking forward to seeing felt maker Ruth Packham’s demo. I love her work. It is cheerful, quirky, fun and never fails to make me smile!
