Born in Pembrokeshire, West Wales, Ami creates a collection of unique sculptural jewellery that explores the intricate cluster formations of shells and life underwaterWorking with the lost wax casting technique, each piece is first hand-carved in wax and then cast into precious metals. The designs are often encrusted with stones and cast using the cast-in-place process — a rare and technically demanding method in which diamonds and sapphires are set directly into the piece during casting, as they can withstand the intense heat. Each piece emerges entirely unique.
Another important part of Ami’s practice is remodelling clients’ heirloom jewellery, transforming unworn pieces into contemporary designs and future heirlooms.
