My small works are forged iron, elegant and stylish but from an unusualy crude material – iron mixed with other precious and non precious metals. These small sculptural and dramatic pieces are forged in the smithy by hand and fire. The forged dark iron in my opinion is a quiet luxury, subtle and organic with comely textures and hues. I make delicate framed metal artworks, contemplative depictions of nature.
In parallel I designs large architectural sculptures, for example the bronze and aluminium door furniture of the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay. Public art sculpture for urban spaces and nature reserves, in steel, stainless steel, wood or slate.
