dylunio Dylan Glyn design

Having completed my foundation at Carmarthen school of art & design, I later went on to study Furniture Design at Loughborough University and graduating in 2026. No with over thirty years’ experience spanning forestry, design and furniture making, I’ve finally set up my own studio workshop in 2024 to creates small batches of contemporary furniture. My work is informed by the traditions of Welsh vernacular design mixed with a fascination of structure, construction and flowing forms that creates a strong sense of flow and movement. My pieces are highly practical and made to be used in daily life with a strong sculptural presence in the spaces they inhabit.
Most of the curves and flowing lines of my work are produced through the technique of steam bending timber which is sourced from sustainably managed local woodlands. Each piece of timber tells a unique story of the valleys, hills, rivers and mountains that makes up my Cynefin (local habitat). Pieces range in scale from cheese platters to Dining Tables and Arm Chairs.
