What a great few days we had......
Nearly 10,000 visitors descended on the pretty town of Bovey Tracey, Devon early this month and made it the most successful Craft Festival ever. A huge thank you to over 200 craft companies that exhibited at the Craft Festival, to the amazing audience and to our army of volunteers. Thank you.
We'd like to congratulate our award winners, Ambrose Vevers, furniture maker & WBW Solicitors Best Maker in the South West, Tanti Designs, Best Stand, madebyhandonline.com Best New Business, textile artist Archana Pathak, Byre Gallery Showcase award, potter Katie Lowe, Christian Dodd Best Ceramic, Rhian Malin, Tony Piper Memorial Craft Excellence award presented by the Devon Guild was awarded to Caroline Finlay and Craft & Design Magazine Feature Award, silversmith Brett Payne.
Our beautiful new feature Out of the Woods, was a magical journey into woodland skills. Led by Hilary Burns, Rosie Brewer, Richard Lewis, Andrew Kirby and Geraldine Jones.
We welcomed lots and lots of families and children at the Festival. They were entertained by puppet shows, storytelling, street theatre and more creative workshops for all ages than ever before. Thank you to everyone involved in our education programme.
The Pottery Showdown, with Potclays, was as popular as ever and Richard, Freya, Jim and Tom put on a great show. Big thanks for Kevin Millward for setting the challenges and Louise Rainbow from Schumacher College for keeping the whole thing moving long with a lot of humour. It was a very happy place to be.
A final thank you to all our sponsors and supporters including WBW Solicitors, Canonteign Falls and Savills.
We're already planning next year....dates, which have to be confirmed, are June 8-10, 2018.
Applications for exhibiting open in September.
