Suzanne Breakwell Window Showcase at the Festival Shop in Bovey Tracey
Written: 08 March 2016
From 14th March The Contemporary Craft Festival Shop in Bovey Tracey, Devon, will present a window showcase of the work of Brighton based paper artist Suzanne Breakwell. Suzanne’s sculptural pieces are constructed from wire, pages from books, paper mache and cotton rag papers.
The inspiration for her work comes from her fascination and love of the natural world and all its glorious flora and fauna. Her prices range from £20-£300 and the Craft Festival Shop will present a selection across the range, from forest fungi to kingfishers, snowdrops and little wrens.
The Craft Festival’s display will welcome Spring, celebrating Suzanne’s work and the beauty and simplicity of paper as a medium.
Suzanne says: "It’s the potential of paper and what it might be able to become which sparks my imagination. I find the delicate yet strong characteristics of paper make it an interesting and versatile material to work with."
Suzanne has also been selected to exhibit at the Craft Festival from 10th-12th June. The award winning Contemporary Craft Festival in Bovey Tracey attracts nearly 10,000 visitors and has become one of the most prestigious and much loved craft events in the UK.
