The award winning Contemporary Craft Festival in Bovey Tracey attracts nearly 10,000 visitors and has become one of the most prestigious and much loved craft events in the UK.
There are many independent retailers in Bovey Tracey and the Craft Festival team is passionate about supporting and celebrating their local community.
The Contemporary Craft Festival Shop will be marking Small Business Saturday with complimentary festive treats from Devon, as well as 10% off everything in store. We are also delighted that Tracey Benton from Benton’s Menagerie will be demonstrating 3D Needlefeltmaking all day in the Festival shop.
We also have makers that you’ll have spotted and loved at the Festival stocking the shelves of our shop with beautiful handmade ceramics, jewellery, lighting, textiles and more – perfect for unique gifts for Christmas
Small Business Saturday UK is a grass-roots campaign which exists to support, promote and inspire small businesses, on the first Saturday in December and beyond. Last year 16.5Million people shopped in small businesses on Dec 6th 2014, an increase of 20% or 2.7million more people, spending £504million in one day. This year, we hope it to be even more and The Contemporary Craft Festival Shop is getting involved again on December 5th
Also in Bovey Tracey…The Devon Guild of Craftsmen will be celebrating on Small Business Saturday with their Christmas exhibition and drop-in clay workshops; online Westcountry cheese sellers, The Cheese Shed will be opening their doors and offering cheese samples and a look behind the scenes at their famous cheese wedding cakes; specialist wool shop Spin A Yarn will be offering their visitors 10% off and free drinks; and the Town is celebrating with a Christmas Market, Santa’s Grotto, pony rides and Christmas Lights will be turned on at 4pm to officially welcome Christmas to Bovey Tracey.
