Some Good News and some Not so Good News
Dear Craft Festival Friend
I hope this finds you safe and well. It’s been a while since I sent out a newsletter. A lot has happened during Lockdown and I wanted to update you, share some news (mostly good!), let you know of some national campaigns and giveaway some lovely soap from Soakk, handmade in Cornwall.
Firstly, let’s get the not so good news out of the way. It will come as no surprise that, with great regret, we have taken the difficult to decision in postponing Craft Festival Bath until November 27-28, 2021. It’s become a sad and frustrating reality of our year but there it is.
If you know me, I don’t stay down for long and always look for positive solutions to problems. So instead of an event in Bath, we will host another Digital Craft Festival on November 27-29 with 120 makers. We received some great feedback following our first Digital Festival back in June and will make a few tweaks to make your experience as enjoyable as possible. I plan to add lots of lovely content, interviews with makers, workshops, demonstrations and the opportunity to buy from a selected collection of 120 of the finest makers. If you are a maker and would like to apply CLICK HERE.
The deadline for applications to our Digital Craft Festival is FRIDAY AUGUST 28th.
Our new Podcast, The Capital of Craft
If you follow us on social media, you will know that I had planned to start a podcast some time ago. I duly ordered a rather fancy microphone, which took 4 months arrive! In the intervening months, I interviewed some amazing makers on Instagram Live instead. This became the backbone and build up to our first Digital Festival. Our new podcast, The Capital of Craft will launch on Thursday September 10th and I'll announce of first guest in our next news. If you'd like to follow The Capital of Craft, CLICK HERE
Digital Festival Highlights
There were many highlights of the Digital Craft Festival in June. One of those was the Q&As with our guest Master Makers. They were an opportunity to get to know some of our finest makers. I was honored to host such a Q&A with silversmith, you can re-watch our conversation, HERE.
