Merry Christmas from The Contemporary Craft Festival
Written: 09 December 2016
As 2016 comes to close, we reflect on a year like no other
Whatever your politics, 2016 has been a year like no other. We were delighted that The Contemporary Craft Festival continued to thrive and we welcome 10,000 visitors to Bovey Tracey in June.
Another Year of Award Winning Craft
The Festival, first and foremost as a celebration of craft and the people who make.
Jeweller, Zsuzsi Morrison from Sidmouth won the coveted Best Maker in the South West award with her stunning silver, gold and enamel jewellery.
Our other award winners were Jin Eui Kim, Christian Dodd Best Ceramics, Jane Crisp, Devon Guild of Craftsmen Craft Excellence Award, Wild & Wood, Best Stand, Adam Cornish, madebyhandonline.com Best New Business.
Our first Pottery Showdown was a big success
We expanded our interactive activities and we were so pleased that all the team from the Pottery Throwdown TV programme came down to Devon to create some ceramic magic.
We are looking forward to the new TV series in January and trying to guess who will win.
I think we all fell in love with this beautiful bus. We showed some classic vintage films by Pathe News, juxtaposed with the elegant films of R&A Collaborations.
We look forward to planning the film programme for next year and if you have any short films that you have permission to use, please get in touch.
There's still time to be part of
