In The Window, Holy Smoke

They’ve only been in the window a few hours and already they’re attracting great attention! Holy Smoke’s incredible textile dog sculptures are proudly gracing our Craft Festival shop window for the next few weeks here in Bovey Tracey.

Layered scraps of linen have been treated with natural dyes, printing and stitch. Areas are left threadbare and the hanging threads and raw edges ingeniously capture the expressions and characters of our four legged friends! 

Visitors are recognizing them from this year’s Festival. We’re enjoying watching people spot them from across the street, stop to smile and come in to take a closer look. 

Holy Smoke is Helen Thompson who is based in north Wales. We have six of her pieces in our shop – do come and have a look.
