With just 7 days until Craft Festival, Cardiff opens it's doors, we asked Lisa Ridge-Valentine to choose her 5 Favourites. Lisa is a Cardiff based online retailer, best known as Lisa Valentine Home. Her beautifully curated website is full of stylish and beautiful products. Lisa cast her discerning eye over the makers and here are her choices.
Louise Hall Ceramics
I love how Louise has made something as strong as ceramic look so fragile and delicate. Her manipulated range in particular is incredible, and I absolutely love the soft, pretty palette she uses.
I was completely mesmerised by Yvettes work - she describes how she is the ' teller of tall tales and tiny stories. I cram the tall tales into the tiniest space I can'. In particular her Reading Girls and Bird Book pages are just the most magical, precious works of art which are to be treasured
Elly makes the most beautiful, whimsical resin jewellery with designs based on her gorgeous illustrations. I love her eye for vintage, unusual subjects - my particular favourites are the victorian divers, and also her beautiful animal and insect designs. She makes pieces to be treasured forever.
Jennifer makes the most amazing paper sculptures from recycled papers which otherwise would've been discarded. The extraordinary detail in her work is really quite incredible.
Anna makes the most incredible jewellery. Glamourous, textural and stunning use of stones. Her work is truly beautiful.
