5 Favourites from our Friends at Folksy
Hi! I hope this finds you well?
We have asked a number of our good friends to chose their 5 Favourites from Craft Festival Bovey Tracey. And here are the choices of Camilla Westgaard from Folksy.
We worked closely with Folksy at the end of last year with the Buy Less, Buy Better, Buy Handmade Campaign. Camilla is very modest but she was the driving force behind that campaign, she is a true Craft Champion!
You can meet all of Camilla's choices plus over 200 more at Craft Festival Bovey Tracey, June 9-11.
Keep scrolling to find out more.
best wishes,
Sarah
PS...The Craft Festival Ceilidh is BACK!
Jules Hogan Knitwear
I interviewed Jules for our Meet the Maker series way back in 2014, just after I started working at Folksy.
I was struck back then, and still am, by her deep understanding of colour. It's fantastic to see how her business has developed and grown over the last decade.
Pottery West
I'm a huge admirer of everything Catherine and Matt do.
They are based in the same studios in Sheffield as my mum, who is also a ceramicist, so I have been lucky enough to see them in action at their wheel. I have huge respect for the way they create their glazes using raw materials and oxides, rather than simply buying them ready mixed.
Peter Lanyon Furniture
I'm always on the lookout for interesting lighting and special pieces of handmade furniture and Peter's 'Forest' lamp really caught my eye. As its name suggests, it looks like a cluster of little mushrooms sprouting from the forest floor.
Rebecca Burt Jewellery
I can never walk past a jewellery stand without stopping.
At the moment, I'm really loving silver and gold together but I'm also drawn to asymmetry and distressed textures. Rebecca's work is calling out to me for all those reasons and more.
John Bloor Printmaker
John's prints soothe my soul.
He has a way of creating small sanctuaries of calm, through the scenes and elements he chooses to depict and the colour combinations he uses, that allow you to escape the whirl of our busy, noisy lives. His work manages to be both restorative and uplifting. I don't know how he does it.
Become A Craft Champion
We need an army of happy volunteers to help us run Craft Festival Bovey Tracey. If you enjoy working with people and fancy being part of one of the friendliest events EVER, we'd love to hear from you.
Our Ceilidh & Hand Made Raffle is BACK
Our very popular Ceilidh (or Barn Dance!) had to be rested because of the Covid Pandemic. I am delighted to say that we are bringing it back, in all it's Foot Stomping Glory! We're also bringing back our coveted Handmade Raffle, packed with prizes donated by our lovely exhibitors. See you there!

Looking forward to sharing more features from Craft Festival soon.
