Celebrating National Tree Week, Indie Week and The Deadline to apply for Bovey is FRIDAY

There is a lot going on this week and month. There is a cacophony of Craft Fairs on every weekend, often multiple fairs in cities, towns and villages up and down the country. There really is no excuse and, if you are anything like us at Craft Festival HQ, we don't need any excuse to visit and buy some lovely craft for someone special this Christmas. We've joined forces with the Justacard's Indie Week campaign to highlight and support Small Businesses that we love to buy from. This week is Indie Week over on Instagram and you can support small businesses you know and discover great new people. Get out, Go to the Shops and Support your High Street and Craft Fairs. 

Earlier in the year, we asked Bovey Tracey Town Council if we could plant some trees, ideally in Mill Marsh Park. We are passionate about reducing waste and the environmental impact of Craft Festival. We've banned single use plastic, no drinks are sold in plastic bottles, encouraged visitors to bring re-useable cups for drinks, we work with Devon Contract Waste to ensure all our waste is recycled, we re-use as much signage as possible and we use LED bulbs for lighting, which has more than halved our energy consumption. But, no matter what we do, we will be producing carbon that we want to offset. This week is National Tree Week and we have planted 2 mature sycamores with the plan to plant 2 more each year. Bovey Tracey Town Council's Park Wardens, Roger and Pete, prepared the ground and the trees were planted today. Thanks goes to Town Clerk, Mark Wells for sourcing the trees and to the Town Council for allowing the trees to be planted. Nice one Bovey! 

Friday also sees the deadline to apply for Craft Festival, Bovey Tracey. It's our Flagship event and it is a huge honour and privilege to present. If you are a maker, based in the UK, Ireland or European Union, you have until 6pm Friday November 29th to apply. CLICK HERE TO APPLY!
