Potclays Director, Becky Otter chooses her 5 Festival Favourites. Potclays are generously supporting our Festival Pottery Showdown in June. Becky has chosen 5 potters for her Festival Favourites
Sue Pryke
Sue’s simple, refined functional ware employs sensitive use of colour and has a quiet beauty about it.
James & Tilla Waters:
The shapes and understated, graphic surface design of James and Tilla’s beautiful functional ware really appeal to us. This is pottery we would live with and use every day.
Paul Young:
Paul’s quirky, honest and sometimes humorous pieces always tell a story. We admire his use of traditional techniques in a modern context.
Paul Wearing:
Texture and form are married perfectly in Paul’s sculptural vessels which echo the passage of time in their eroded surfaces.
RAMP Roop & Al Make Pots:
We love the considered use of brushwork, colour and pattern in these pieces. There is a clear understanding of the delicate relationship between form and surface.
