5 Favourites from the Craftivist Collective
Written: 18 April 2024
Hello!
It's been so lovely having a little bit of sun and warmth this week! It has been a relentless winter and I'm hoping that the weather is finally settling down!
Our popular Out of the Woods tent is expanding it's repertoire this year to include talks and wellbeing activties.
I'm so pleased that Sarah Corbett, the Founder of the Craftivist Collective will be one of the speakers joining us at Craft Festival in June. She will be joining Daniel Carpenter from Heritage Crafts discussing the Art of Gentle Protest. Full programme of talks are here.
There is also one week to go until 20 Years in the Making opens at Make Southwest, featuring 20 award winners from 20 years of Craft Festival. It runs from April 27-June 22nd.
Read on for Sarah's 5 Favourites.
Have a great weekend,

The Stitch Society
Stunning, stylist sustainable workwear that you know will only get better with age. I particularly love the denim smock - just gorgeous!
Majeda Clarke
I just want to be wrapped up in one of their sleek modernist blankets especially when I'm feeling overwhelmed with eco-anxiety and sadness at social injustices happening around the world.
Harriet Caslin
I love her large handmade porcelain mugs and I can just imagine having one full of tea next to me whilst I make a gentle craftivism object and capture my crafterthoughts in a notebook nearby.
Coates English Willow
I keep dreaming of having one of Coates English Willow picnic baskets that I can take to the small, quiet and intriguing 'stitch-ins' we have at the Craftivist Collective and spotlight the beauty and skill of this heritage craft we would miss if it became extinct.
Ruth Broadway
Ruth Broadway's hand-printed feathers & hand-stitched talismans empower me to keep campaigning a more beautiful kind and fair world. I would love her thread charm necklace as a talisman to remind me to thread my values through all that I do, say and think.
