Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre have been our close partner since we founded Made by Hand at Tredegar House, back in 2010. They give us the most incredible amount of support including supplying the children’s workshops, that our young visitors can enjoy, free of charge.
We asked Llantarnam’s Director, Louise Jones-Williams to chose 5 makers that she is looking forward to seeing. Here are her great choices….
Fflur Cadwaladr Owen
Extraordinary sculptural specimens made of small pieces of leather in intricate patterns which seem to grow organically, fascinating and intriguing.
St Dogmaels Pottery
I absolutely love Peter Bodenham’s work! The joy of simple bold forms and painterly brush strokes. Though much of his work appears functional their striking beauty lies in that they cross the boundaries between art and craft.
Karina Gill
Karina makes beautiful silver jewellery and bowls articulated and layered giving the feeling of a strange sea creature mixed with an alien life form.
Abbie Gaiger
Striking acrylic jewellery, individually cut and hand dyed. Mixing digital processes and traditional skills into beautiful pieces which catch the light and everyone’s attention.

I love Treefall’s celebration of childhood! Lobsters with moustaches, badgers in trousers and swans looking after their precious cygnets.
