Stover School is a co-educational independent day and boarding school in South Devon for children aged 3 to 18 years. It provides education which nurtures, celebrates, challenges and inspires each pupil.
Our approach combines a progressive research based curriculum, with a resilient moral code based on sound family and Christian principles.
Excellence in teaching and nurturing of pupils lie at the heart of all we do at Stover. These dual objectives drive our decisions and shape our priorities.
Student stories
I was Head Girl at Stover 2005-2006 and was a music scholar in voice, violin, piano and flute. I left in 2006 to study at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and gained a First class honours BMUS HONS in Vocal and Opera Studies. I have settled in Cardiff and have built a Singing Teaching and freelance opera singing career across South Wales. I am also a freelance care home project manager for a charity called Forget-me-not Chorus ( a charity that provides singing sessions for those living with and alongside dementia). I project manage all our care home work.
“I know many parents wish for their child to develop independence during their education. Stover is a very good place for that in the sense that we aren't spoon-fed skills or knowledge. We are taught to investigate with the help of the teachers and when help is needed the teachers are always there to guide our thinking.”
Stover has been part of our family for three generations now. We love the family atmosphere, the gentle approach to learning and seeing the commitment to the children from all the staff.
